GRAVEL DRIVEWAY INSTALLATION & PREPARATION KELOWNA
PROFESSIONAL GRAVEL DRIVEWAY INSTALLATION IN KELOWNA
A durable gravel driveway starts with proper excavation and base preparation. The depth of excavation, drainage, slope, aggregate selection, and compaction must suit the property’s soil conditions, traffic requirements, and surrounding landscape.
TNT Kelowna prepares gravel driveways for homes, acreages, new construction, commercial properties, and construction sites. Our team focuses on creating a stable, well-drained base and a properly graded surface that supports reliable access and long-term performance.

SITE CLEARING & EXCAVATION
We clear and excavate the driveway area to the required depth, removing unsuitable soil, vegetation, and other materials. The driveway route is prepared carefully around buildings, landscaping, utilities, and existing site features.

GRADING & DRAINAGE PREPARATION
Proper grading helps direct water away from buildings and prevents pooling, erosion, and premature driveway damage. We shape the driveway with the appropriate slope or crown based on the property’s existing drainage conditions.

SUBGRADE & BASE PREPARATION
We prepare and compact the subgrade before placing the gravel base. Where site conditions require additional stabilization, suitable materials or geotextile fabric can be incorporated to help separate soft soil from the aggregate layers.

GRAVEL PLACEMENT & COMPACTION
Gravel is placed in controlled layers, graded, and compacted to create a strong, even driving surface. Proper compaction helps reduce rutting, shifting, settlement, and loose material under regular vehicle traffic.

DRIVEWAY REPAIR & RESURFACING
Existing gravel driveways can develop potholes, ruts, washouts, and uneven areas over time. We reshape problem areas, restore proper drainage, add gravel where required, and compact the surface to improve access and appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Utility Trenching FAQs
What utility trenching services does TNT Kelowna provide?
TNT provides trench excavation for new and replacement water lines, sewer services, underground electrical conduit, communications lines, and other approved underground services. We can also provide bedding, backfill, compaction, material delivery, excess-soil removal, and rough grading.
Does TNT install and connect water, sewer, or electrical lines?
TNT handles the excavation and related site work. Plumbing, electrical work, inspections, and final utility connections must be completed or approved by the appropriate licensed trade, utility provider, or authority. We coordinate our work with those parties as needed.
Do underground utilities need to be located before trenching?
Yes. Underground infrastructure must be identified before excavation begins. A BC 1 Call request can identify facilities belonging to participating infrastructure owners. Private services and facilities belonging to non-members may require additional locating.
Can TNT work with my plumber, electrician, or contractor?
Yes. We coordinate with your project team to confirm the route, depth, grade, working width, site access, bedding requirements, inspection timing, and backfill schedule before work begins.
Can you trench through rock or difficult soil?
Yes. TNT has experienced operators and equipment suited to challenging Okanagan ground. If unexpected rock, groundwater, or unsuitable soil is encountered, we review the options and discuss any cost or scheduling impact before proceeding. Learn more about our excavation services.
Do you supply bedding and backfill materials?
Yes. We can supply and place sand, gravel, drain rock, road crush, and other suitable materials according to the project requirements and current availability. View our landscaping supplies .
Can TNT remove excess soil and prepare the area for restoration?
Yes. Our trucking and hauling team can remove excess soil and permitted excavation debris. After installation and inspection, we can backfill, compact, rough-grade, and prepare the area for landscaping, gravel, concrete, or asphalt restoration.
How much does utility trenching cost in Kelowna?
Cost depends on trench length and depth, site access, soil or rock conditions, surface removal, materials, trucking, disposal, compaction, and restoration requirements. Contact TNT Kelowna to arrange a site visit and receive an estimate based on your project.
